Jacinta Zuma Criticizes Zimbabwe and Other Governments Over Migrant Violence Response.

Jacinta Zuma, leader of the March and March movement, has delivered a scathing critique of Zimbabwe and several other governments for their inadequate response to violence linked to protests concerning undocumented migrants. In a recent interview, Zuma urged these nations to prioritize the safety of their citizens by repatriating them rather than issuing warnings to remain safe in South Africa.

Zuma’s remarks come in light of cautionary messages from the United Nations, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and other countries advising their citizens to avoid violence. “They must not caution their citizens against violence; they must come and fetch their citizens,” she stated, highlighting Zimbabwe specifically.

She expressed frustration over the perceived failure of Zimbabwe’s government to protect its citizens, asserting, “If they are not safe in South Africa, they must caution them to go and hop to the next country or come back home. We don’t want your citizens anymore.”

In her comments, Zuma underscored that foreign governments did not deter their citizens from migrating to South Africa when they fled unsafe conditions. “The time when they were running away from their countries… they didn’t caution their citizens not to come to South Africa, did they?” she said.

Zuma further emphasized that South Africans should not bear the burden of Zimbabwe’s internal failures. “We don’t owe Mnangagwa anything. If he is failing his own citizens, that mustn’t be a burden on us,” she added, pointing out that South Africa faces its own pressing challenges.

Criticizing the United Nations, Zuma accused the organization of selective pressure. “The United Nations must know: they failed to tell Trump to stop ICE,” she remarked, referring to the U.S. immigration enforcement policies. She called for the UN to address immigration issues in the United States before attempting to influence South Africa’s policies.
