By hoaf  Published On January 12, 2021

We already know the covid-19 lockdown episode was a trying time for a lot of people but for some others, it was a more difficult period.

Rebecca Hlabano was infected with the Covid-19 virus, as her health deteriorated, she was able to get help when she called 911 and an ambulance was dispatched with a team to take her to the hospital.

The days that followed her discharge from the hospital were spent in self isolation which would last for 10 days. This , she did alone, in her flat, facing deteriorating health conditions, loss of income.

She received adequate support from the health service officials who called regularly to check on how she was coping but the loss of job was also a big problem.

She eventually ran out of gas and food as she also had to deal with her faulty refrigerator. Luckily for her, friends from church stepped in to help her purchase gas and enough food while House of Africa also surprised her with a new refrigerator to help store her food.

watch the interview to hear more from her.
